What the FDA Advises About Accutane
The FDA (US Food and Drug Administration Agency) has posted a web page on their site to warn of the dangers of purchasing Accutane (Isotretinoin) online. Isotretinoin is a medication used to treat severe nodular acne that will not clear up through antibiotics treatment.
Isotretinoin is known to cause some extremely unpleasant and dangerous side effects in some people if it is not correctly used. These side effects can include:
-
Headaches
-
Dizziness
-
Vomiting
-
Strokes
-
Seizures
-
Birth defects
-
and Psychological Problems
Isotretinoin (which also has the brand names of Accutane, Claravis, Amnesteem and Sotret) can be an extremely effective treatment for acne. As such the FDA is not concerned so much about Isotretinoin itself but rather the way in which it is acquired.
As Isotretinoin is a prescription drug, acne sufferers should be vetted by a doctor to see if it is a suitable treatment for them. Unfortunately there are many websites that advertise Isotretinoin purchase online… and this is what the FDA are worried about. Accutane should not be available to everybody as it is not a suitable drug for everyone. Its use should also be managed and overseen by a medical professional.
So remember when thinking about purchasing Accutane online that the last thing you want to do in trying to rid yourself of acne is acquire a life-threatening problem as a result. Our advice is NEVER purchase Isotretinoin online and ONLY ever use it if it has been prescribed to you by a doctor.
